Mary the Moderator goes to the Big City
There I was, near NYC for work. So I did my work, and because I was flying out extremely early in the morning, I contacted my friend that lives in NY to see if we could meet up for dinner. And we could...Yay!! I walked from my hotel at LGA airport to Jackson Heights Queens. For those single ladies (and men that should also be concerned), it was no issue - YOU CAN WALK FROM NEAR LGA to Jackson Height and back without issue, even at night (or at least I did) AND THE FOOD....Himalayan Yak - get some real Tibet/Nepal-y food. I had never had Himalayan food, and it was really good. A combination of Indian, Middle Eastern, and meat and potatoes. Very spicy, but extremely tasty.
I really recommend that people take a journey through Jackson Heights, because it is one of the most (if not THE MOST) diverse neighborhoods in all of the US. You can go from Columbia to Peru to Nepal in a few blocks. Get out of Manhattan and come to Queens!
